100 Billion Dollars and The Opioid Crisis

143 Americans die every day of the opioid crisis. If you had 100 billion dollars to give to solving this crisis what would you fund? Would you hire more police, build more homeless shelters or fund more treatment centers?

The New York Times asked 30 experts who have personal professional knowledge of the subject and the consensus is not clear. On average they leaned toward treatment with 47 billion dollars. Then they would tackle demand with 27 billion. Harm reduction came in at 15 billion and finally supply at 11 billion.

One interesting finding of this survey is that not one of the 30 experts spent any money on the boarder wall with Mexico.
